Lucas Bell Kohl was born May 4th, 1998 in Santa Cruz do Sul, a tobacco grown city in the southernmost state of Brazil.  He is a decendant of German and Italian families, and has expressed a strong interest in cars from a very early age.

On high school in Brazil, Lucas was an very active kid, always practicing many sports, besides the Go Kart also played soccer, basketball, voleyball and practice athletics. Currently living in Miami, FL, his daily routine is divided between the studies of business administration at Miami Dade College, physical preparation, kart competitions and to race for the 2018 season USF2000 Series presented by Cooper Tire.

His racing career started at 11 racing Go Karting in Brazil, the debut in open wheel racing came in 2014 when he won the Formula Junior National Beginner’s championship with 8 victories in 16 races.

In 2015 Lucas returned to karting to race in the major Brazilian championships and to enhance his driving skills claiming 3 podiums, including victory in the final race of the season.

In 2016, Lucas moved to America focus on Indycar, he had his first taste of open wheel racing in the United States competing in the USF2000 Series presented by Cooper Tire. In 2017 on his second year he joined PABST Racing team ending the Championship in 7th place overall and help the team to win the Team Championship for the first time in history.

In this two first years Lucas collected 30 starts, finishing 15 top-ten, 3 top-five and one podium, earning 296 points on total.

For 2018, Lucas will be challenged to continue the previous year succesfull work with the team, improving his driving skill to take the Pabst Racing Tatuus USF-17 car #22 to the top of the grid.

The USF2000 Series presented by Cooper Tire is the first step in the Mazda Road to Indy program where Lucas looks to follow the path taken by many of his racing heroes, with the ultimate goal of compete and win the Indianapolis 500 and INDYCAR.
