Lucas Bell Kohl,  born May 4th 1998 in Santa Cruz do Sul, a tobacco grown city in the southernmost state of Brazil. He is a descendant of German and Italian parents and has expressed a strong interest in cars from an early age.

Since age 9, Lucas has followed his father and amateur racecar driver around the racetracks in Brazil, making his own debut in Karts at age of 10 and taking victory in his first race as a driver. Since that first race, Lucas has participated every year in state and national Karting races throughout Brazil.

His debut in open wheel racing cars competitions came in 2014 when he won the formula Junior National beginner’s championship with eight victories out of 16 races.

In 2015, Lucas returned to karts to race a major Karting championship in Brazil to enhance his driving skills.  Lucas claimed 3 podiums, including a victory in the last race of the season.

This year, Lucas is facing his greatest challenge so far, driving the #34 Bellko car for John Cummiskey Racing in the 2016 Cooper Tires USF2000 Series powered by Mazda.

The series is the first step in the Mazda Road to Indy program where Lucas starts down the path taken by many of his racing heroes from Brazil, to the ultimate goal of competing in the Indianapolis 500 and INDYCAR.
